KIFF is proud to announce the selected films from 145 applications after our jury’s strict examination, for public subscription project Creator’s Factory Film Section, in order to discover the next generation of talented artists at the Kyoto International Film and Art Festival held from Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th October.

The selected films will be screened at Creator's Factory Qualifying Screenings 1 and 2 in the program of the festival.
Following the Creator's Factory Qualifying Screenings, an announcement of the award winner in the Film and Art Sections follow at a ceremony at Former Rissei Elementary School.

The award winner will recieve support for their next production from Yoshimoto Kogyo. In the festival, a preview screening of R-18 Literary Award vol.3 “Manga Niku to Boku”, the Best New Creators Award winner at the 1st Creator’s Factory, and Kiki Sugino’s first film, will be held at Aeon Cinema Kyoto Katsuragawa on Saturday 18th October.

The venue Ooe Nogakudo (the Noh Theatre of Ooe family in Kanze style), is a historical building that retains an atmosphere of the Meiji period. Built in 1908 and renovated in 1919, it has tatami mats separated from wooden frames (chair sheets are available as well), which enhances the films to look even more beautiful.
