All About Shinagawa Cinema
Ahead of the release o“f Z Island”, celebrating Sho Aikawa’s 30 years as an entertainer, a series of retrospective screenings will be held by Director Hiroshi Shinagawa. As well as screening these films, we will dig into the charms of Shinagawa’s films through chats with some of the films’cast and staff.

Unsuccessful entertainer of a comedy duo Tobio and super delinquent Ryuhei happen to be thrown into the same detention cell. Seeing Ryuhei’s talent as a straight man in manzai, Tobio suggests that they make up their own comedy duo. Their newfound friendship and bond gradually changes their previously directionless lives. But the two must face mysterious debt collector Kanai and a group of hostile delinquents.

Director Shinagawa picks up his megaphone to make his directorial debut with this film adaptation of the autobiographical novel. Wanting to be a delinquent, Hiroshi drops out of a private junior high school and transfers to a public junior high school, where he immediately attracts the attention of a group of bad boys. There he meets the nefarious, but charismatic delinquent Tatsuya. Hiroshi battles with Tatsuya and is unceremoniously beaten by. But he becomes liked and is finally able to join the group of bad boys.
